Import 9: I'm having problems importing from Reference Update into EndNote 8 or later on a Mac; it doesn't seem to be working.

Answer: The Direct Export functionality does not work on a Mac when trying to import Reference Update references into EndNote 8 or later. To import the references, do the following:
  1. In Reference Update, after you have marked some records for export, go to the "Output" menu and select "Reference Listings..."

  2. In the window that appears, select the Medline format. Then click on "Save List to File..."

  3. Enter a name for the file and click on "Save." Then click on "Done."

  4. Now open EndNote and open the library into which you want to import the records. Then go to the File menu and select "Import."

  5. In the window that appears, browse to the file you just saved in Step 3 and highlight it.

  6. Now find the "Import Options" field and select "Other Filters..." After a few seconds, a window will open. When it does, find the filter called "Reference Update (ISI).enf. Select it and then click on "Import."
