I'd like to use InfoTrieve with the OpenURL function in EndNote, how can I set this up? |
Answer:
In order to change your EndNote preferences to use InfoTrieve, do the following:
- In EndNote for Windows, go to "Edit > Preferences". If you are on a Mac, go to "EndNote > Preferences" instead.
- Select "OpenURL" in the menu to the left.
- Click the "Enable OpenURL" checkbox here.
- Replace the "OpenURL Path:" text with:
http://services.infotrieve.com/openurl/openurl.aspx
- Replace the "Arguments:" text that reads:
?sid=ISI:WoS
With:
?genre=article
The entirety of the "Arguments:" text should then read:
?genre=article&aufirst=AUFIRST&aulast=AULAST&
issn=ISSN&isbn=ISBN&atitle=ATITLE&title=TITLE&
volume=VOLUME&issue=ISSUE&date=DATE&spage=
SPAGE&epage=EPAGE
- Once you have verified that the correct text is in the "OpenURL Path:" and "Arguments:" boxes, click Apply to save the settings, and close out of the Preferences window.
- You have now applied the settings, and should be able to link back to the InfoTrieve website to order documents.
To order a document through InfoTrieve:
- Double-click on a reference from your library to open it in Edit mode.
- Under the References menu, select the "OpenURL Link" option.
- This will add the document to your InfoTrieve cart for purchase. Continue the process of opening references and clicking on the "OpenURL Link" option to add documents to your cart as needed.
