44:
If I start a document using EndNote Web, can I continue working with the document using the EndNote Desktop program?
|
Answer:
You can do this, but there are a few things you will want to keep in mind:
- If you have EndNote X, X1 or X2 and are using the EndNote Web Cite While You Write (CWYW) tools, you will need to swap to the EndNote X, X1 or X2 (CWYW) Desktop tools. To do so, in Word X/2000/2002 (XP)/2003/2004/2008 go to "Tools > EndNote Web > Cite While You Write Preferences". In Word 2007, Go to the "EndNote Web" tab and choose Preferences. choose the Application option for EndNote.
- You need to make sure you have all the references from your EndNote Web folder in your Desktop application. Click here for directions on how to transfer your references between EndNote Web and EndNote Desktop.
- If you unformat the citations in your document and then format again, you may receive a dialog that reads "EndNote Select Matching Reference." Click here for directions on resolving this.
