I'm getting an error message, "This file could not be found" (C:\PROGRA~1\ENDNOT~1\ENLocale.doc), EndNote Add-In, EndNote's language-specific initialization failed." How can I resolve this?

| Answer:
This error message will come up if you are using the old EndNote 4 addin file in Word. Unless you are actually using EndNote 4, you will want to remove this addin file.
To do so, close completely out of Word and Outlook, and go to "Start > Search > For Files or Folders" (or "Start > Find > Files or Folders"), and type in ENWord32 as the file you wish to find. Delete any copies of this file from your computer, and the EndNote 4 addin should no longer load in Word.
After removing the old addin, if you do not have an EndNote submenu under the Tools menu in Word, you may need to manually add the EndNote tools to Word. To do so, please follow the directions in this FAQ.
