While attempting to insert a citation, I received the message "Please move the insert point outside of the reference list." How can I fix this?

| Answer:
This will come up if your cursor is currently in the reference list that EndNote generates when you try to insert a citation. Citations must be inserted within the document text, and not within your actual reference list. If you place the cursor within the text of your document, where you want the citation to actually show up, you should be able to insert the citation without problems.
