Install 10: I'm an Athens user, and I'm getting a continuous login prompt when I transfer with EndNote Desktop, use the tools in Word, or use the Capture button in my browser. How can I fix this?

Answer: If you are an Athens user, you may encounter a continuous login prompt while using Transfer with EndNote, Cite While You Write in Word, or the Capture button in the Internet Explorer or Firefox EndNote Web toolbar. This occurs when you have logged into ISI Web of Knowledge through Athens.

For Internet Explorer users:

If you use Internet Explorer to access ISI Web of Knowledge with Athens credentials, we advise that you log into your EndNote Web library with Internet Explorer first. This will avoid the login prompt for Transfer with EndNote, Cite While You Write in Word, and Capture in the Internet Explorer EndNote Web toolbar.

For Firefox Users:

  1. Make sure that you have accessed your EndNote Web account by accessing ISI Web of Knowledge through Athens at least once.

  2. Open FireFox.

  3. Delete cookies, specifically isiknowledge.com and myendnoteweb.com.

  4. Then test Transfer and Cite While You Write in Word.

  5. To use Capture with the EndNote Web Firefox extension, you must log into EndNote Web in the browser first to avoid the login prompt.
