CWYW 27: Notes about APA 6th and EndNote Web.

Answer: The APA 6th bibliographic style was recently posted to EndNote Web. At this time, EndNote Web cannot provide the author formatting with the ellipses when more than eight authors are present. Additional formatting notes are below with the applicable APA 6th section.

Section 7.01.12 Special issue or section in a journal

This reference type uses editors in place of authors. To format this reference type, add (Ed.) or (Eds.) after the final Author in the Author field using Journal Article.

Example:
Haney, C. Wiener, R.L. (Eds.)

7.01.14 Editorial without signature

To format this reference type, use Journal Article and add "Editorial: " to the beginning of title field in that reference.

Example:
Editorial: “What is a disaster” and why does this question matter? [Editorial]. (2006). Journal of Contingencies and Crisis Management, 14, 1-2

7.01.16 Abstract as an original source

At this time, EndNote Web cannot distinguish to prefix "Abstract retrieved from" or "Retrieved from" to the URL field. "Retrieved from" will always be included in the URL field.

7.02.24 Electronic version of a book chapter in a volume in a series.

Use the Generic reference type to format these records correctly.

7.03.33, 34 Authored report from a nongovernmental organization

This is an electronic version of a report that requires modifications to format correctly. Use the Government Document reference type and manually modify the individual reference as follows. First, include the website title information and the word "website:" in the URL field. Second, add the words “Research Report No.” to the beginning of the Report Number field.

Examples:

Kessy, S.S. A. & Urio, F. M. (2006). The contribution of microfinance institutions to poverty reduction in Tanzania (Research Report 3-025). Retrieved from University of Michigan, Center for Improvement of Early Reading website: http://www.ciera.org/library/reports/inquiry-3/3-025/3-025.pdf

McDaniel, J.E. & Miskel, C.G. (2002) The effect of groups and individuals on national decisionmaking: Influence and domination in the reading policymaking environment (CIERA Report 3-025). Retrieved from University of Michigan, Center for Improvement of Early Reading Achievement website: http://www.ciera.org/library/reports/inquiry-3/3-025/3-025.pdf

7.04.36 Symposium Contribution

In order to keep the title non-italicized, unlike other conference proceedings, use the Book Section reference type instead.
