EndNote X1.0.2 (Windows) and X1.0.3 (Mac)

The EndNote X1.0.2 (Windows) and X1.0.3 (Mac) is free to EndNote X1 users and includes new, highly-requested features:

  • Can import records properly from a wider range of years than ever before, including 2010 and later
  • Formatting support for Open Document Type (ODT) files using the Format Paper command.
  • Expanded groups—create hundreds of groups in each EndNote library.

  • Corrected an issue where Groups would not show references, even though they were present.
  • The reference preview now displays active URLs for quick access.
  • Updated documentation, Output Styles, Connections and Import filters.
  • PLUS approximately 50 additional updates, fixes, and improvements.
  • EndNote for Windows Mobile / Pocket PC

    Note: EndNote X1.0.2 was designed to run on Windows Mobile 5 using Windows XP computers. Smartphones running Windows Mobile are not supported.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS


Windows

  1. You will need to fully uninstall and reinstall EndNote X1 to take advantage of this update. Be sure you have your Product key (and previous version serial number for upgrade editions) handy before beginning this process. If you have a volume license copy, contact your volume license administrator for updated installation files, and do not follow the steps below.
  2. Download the EndNote X1.0.2 installer. Choose to save this file to disk.
  3. Go to your Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs (or Programs and Features in Vista and 7). Select the Endnote X1 option and choose "Remove".
  4. Click Yes.
  5. Click Next until the uninstall process completes.
  6. Open the downloaded installer and install EndNote X1.0.2. When the process completes, you will be fully up to date.
Mac
  1. You will need to fully uninstall and reinstall EndNote X1 to take advantage of this update. Be sure you have your Product key (and previous version serial number for upgrade editions) handy before beginning this process. If you have a volume license copy, contact your volume license administrator for updated installation files, and do not follow the steps below.
  2. Download the EndNote X1.0.3 installer. Save this file to disk, then mount the disk image.
  3. Open EndNote X1. Go to the EndNote X1 menu and choose Customizer.
  4. Click the Uninstall button.
  5. Click yes.
  6. Click Next until the uninstall process completes.
  7. At the end of the process remove the EndNote X1 folder from the applications folder. Note if you have saved any custom content files or other things in this folder, you may wish to simply rename the folder to "EndNote X1 Old folder".
  8. Copy the EndNote X1 folder to the Applications folder and launch Endnote X1 from the Applications folder to install EndNote X1.0.3. When the process completes, you will be fully up to date.
