Instant
Subject Bibliographies
For
the first time, users of EndNote 7 can save steps creating
a bibliography with topic headings using EndNote’s
new Subject Bibliography. For example, users simply select the field
“Author” to view a bibliography organized by author headings. The
look of a user’s subject bibliography can be controlled by selecting
a favorite output style, choosing a sort order and a numbering scheme
for the references. This feature gives users an easy way to update
their curricula vitae and reading lists.
Flexible
Placement of Images from EndNote References into Microsoft Word
Users
can take advantage of EndNote’s new ability to insert
a figure or table anywhere in a Microsoft Word®
document. Users can now search their EndNote libraries for
images to place figures and tables within the text, or to create
figure and table lists at the end of the document, depending upon
their presentation or publisher requirements. And there are new
output style settings to specify the caption location for figures
or tables.
Compatibility
with Popular Word Processors Using Rich Text Format (RTF) Files
EndNote
7 now offers the ability to create bibliographies using StarOffice,
OpenOffice, AppleWorks, FrameMaker and more. EndNote 7 scans
RTF documents containing temporary EndNote citations and
creates a bibliography instantly. EndNote 7’s RTF document
scan feature lets users choose any of over 1,000 output styles to
create the final bibliography.
New
Connectivity of EndNote References Palm
Handheld and Visualization Software
EndNote
7 mobilizes a user’s EndNote library on Palm®
OS. Users can now access their references anywhere, anytime. With
this new connectivity, users can search, edit and beam references
as well as use the HotSync®
function with their EndNote desktop libraries.
Other
features include the ability to export files in XML format, and
to move EndNote references to data visualization tools to
help users explore research literature visually. In addition, EndNote 7 helps users locate full text faster by connecting to an
institution’s online resources with OpenURL links. With over 1,500
content files including output styles, templates, import filters
and connection files, EndNote 7 expands the ways to collect
data from a wide variety of online resources and to publish manuscripts.

7 is designed for Windows ME/2000/XP. The list price of EndNote
